Facebook Tips & Tricks

For many of these tricks, you are going to need to be using the Firefox browser and have the Greasemonkey extension installed. Both are free to download and amazingly easy to use, so fear not!

Profile Tricks

  • AIM Status - This script is pretty neat. It shows you the AIM status of whoever’s profile you happen to be looking at. (Script homepage)

  • Age Check - Let’s admit it, we all hate doing math. That’s why Will Ferrel added it to the Axis of Evil a few years ago. But with this little script, you’ll no longer have to manually do the math in your head to find out if that hot chick is 18 yet! (Script homepage)
  • Image Enlarger - With this script, all you have to do is hover over an image to enlarge it. Kinda neat for seeing people’s profile image even if they’re not your friend. (Script homepage)

Look & Feel Tricks

  • Antique Facebook - Transforms Facebook into a wooden, more antique looking website. (Script’s homepage)
  • Auto Colorizer - Visit any profile or photo album on Facebook, and the page will change color schemes to perfectly match the photo. Kinda neat! (Script’s homepage)

Cool Tricks

  • The Creator is the first profile created at your school. You can’t search for him, but you can easily find his profile by doing the following: Go to your profile and look at your ID in the URL. The first few numbers are your school ID, so if you change the rest of the numbers to zeros and the final number to 1, you’ll find “The Creator’s” profile. Good luck getting him to approve your friend request though!
  • Tiled Friends - Click the “My Friends” link on the Facebook sidebar and then in the drop down box next to “Show,” hover your mouse and click on one of the “—” lines. You’ll be greeted with a tiled page with all your friend’s profile photos. It doesn’t really serve any purpose, but it’s cool to look at!
