A Facebook Fatwa

The video below is a teaser trailer for an upcoming Facebook Documentary centering on what happens when crazy people get on Facebook and start issuing fatwa’s against their sister’s boyfriends. Or something like that.

I like this guy already. This is somebody I could hang out with. What? There’s a bounty on my head? People are trying to kill me? Sweet, this is gonna make a bitchin’ story. Let’s make a movie out of it!

It does seem to center on a pretty big issue, which is the majority of people not thinking about the photos they place on Facebook. I’ve written about this ad nauseum though and there’s not much more I can say. It’s gotten to the point now where I hear about somebody who had their lives disrupted due to something they did on Facebook and all I think is really? This is news to people still? It’d be like people getting shocked and amazed if they heard that somebody had their arm chewed off after sticking it into a shark’s mouth.

The only thing I worry about this movie is that we’ll probably never see a picture of the chick that started this whole thing, which is a downright sad. How are we, as the viewing audience, supposed to pick a side if we don’t know how hot the chick was in the first place? Oh crap, I better shut up, I don’t need to add to my own collection of people out to kill me.

Facebook In Reality

It’s funny because they talk weird.

British People Hate Facebook, Spell Color Incorrectly

If you can overlook the horrible lip-synching, you’ll notice this video is spot on. Facebook needs to hire a PR Doctor, which is simply a stupid title to give to a person whose job it is to keep the bigwigs at Facebook up to date on the “pulse” (haha, get why the guy had doctor in his job title now. Such wit!) of the user community. If such a job existed, I have a feeling the guy would be running around the office screaming apocalyptic doom is imminent for the company. Well, either that, or he’d be pointing out that way too many people are getting sick and tired of Facebook. I like the apocalyptic doom scenario better though.

You didn’t poke back…

I found this video while surfing around on Digg today and thought I should share.

Who Invited Facebook To The Party?

I must say, the chick who plays Facebook in the video below has the part nailed. It’s called Internet Party and created by the masterminds at Those Aren’t Muskets. Click the link below to watch it, especially if you spend a lot of time on the Internet these days.

Mark Zuckerberg 60 Minutes Interview

Mark Zuckerberg was apparently interviewed on CBS’ 60 Minutes news program last night, but there’s no way I saw it live since it was aired at the same time as the backend of an NFL playoff game. Seriously, who even schedules a TV program to go up against playoff baseball or football? If I was the head of a network that didn’t have the rights to either of those, I’d just show videos of monkeys throwing bananas at each other instead of wasting money on actual programming. Then again, it shouldn’t take a genius to see why I’m not the head of a network television station. Who in their right mind would watch Zuckerberg yap about Facebook instead of playoff football? It’s not only un-American, it pretty much means you’re a Communist and that you hate puppies and rainbows.

Besides, this is why YouTube is such a Godsend. Not only can you watch sports, but the next morning you can watch the much talked about and even bigger disappointing interview. Honestly, it’s not a bad interview, but we don’t learn much more than the fact that Zuckerberg sleeps on a mattress on his floor, started programming computer code when he was in the 6th grade, and that the music at Facebook company parties is some very bad crap. But if you’re a fan of Facebook, it’s an enjoyable watch, so have it.

Oh, and the diamond ring tidbit in the second video was pretty hilarious and new to me. Gotta love Beacon!

Poke, Poke, Poke!

What the hell does it mean to poke someone anyway?

If you were sitting around today wishing there was a parody of those stupid eHarmony commercials where Facebook somehow played a role, then I’ve got good and and bad news for you. On the upside, today is your lucky day, as such a video exists. On the downside, you’re probably like the bearded dude near the end of this clip.
